Baldur’s Gate 3 Doesn’t Allow Pre-Loads on PC

The game has an installation size of a whopping 122 GB, and that can only be initiated once it has launched globally.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is launching imminently on PC, and as has been made abundantly clear by now, it’s shaping up to be an absolutely massive game, with oddles of content and hundreds of hours worth of gameplay. Given the scale of the game, it’s no surprise that its installation size is going to be a whopping 122 GB– though you won’t be getting any additional time before the game launches to get that out of the way.

Larian Studios has confirmed the pre-loading is not available for Baldur’s Gate 3. That means if you were hoping to get the game installed on your system so you could jump straight into the action the moment it unlocked, that, sadly won’t be possible. And given the fact that Digital Deluxe Edition owners don’t get 72 hours of early access either (the way PS5 owners will), there really is no way to get around the lack of pre-loads.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is due out on August 3 for PC, and on September 6 for PS5.
