Starfield Requires About 140 GB Installation Space on PC Via Windows Store

Preloads go live today for Xbox Series X/S and PC via the Windows Store, while Steam players must wait until August 30th.

Preloads for Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield start today for Xbox Series X/S and PC via the Windows Store. Steam players can start preloading on August 30th, but it seems the game is larger than previously outlined, at least on PC. The Xbox Store listing for Starfield on PC reveals that you’ll need 139.84 GB of installation space.

Contrast this to the Steam version, which requires 125 GB of installation space. Whether that could change in the future remains to be seen. If Starfield receives a day one patch (which it most likely will), the installation size could increase further. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

Starfield is out on September 6th for Xbox Series X/S and PC and launches on day one for Game Pass. If you purchase the Premium Edition, you can start playing early on September 1st.
