Hey, you guys remember CyberPunk 2077? It was a brand new futuristic RPG that CD Projekt RED announced years ago (well before they even announced Witcher 3, as a matter of fact), and it was going to be their first new original IP (The Witcher is based on a series of best selling Polish fantasy books). Since then, the game has sort of disappeared from the public eye, and all focus has shifted to The Witcher instead.

If you were hoping that that would change once The Witcher 3 had released, well, you were wrong- CD Projekt RED have confirmed that they plan on not talking about CyberPunk for a couple of years going forward, and that instead they plan to keep the focus squarely on The Witcher.

“We hope and we are certain that Cyberpunk has even bigger commercial potential [than The Witcher 3],” CD Projekt CEO Adam Kicinski said in an interview with Reuters. “It is too early to talk about it, though.”

“This year, and the next one will be the years of the Witcher,” he added.

That sort of sucks, in my opinion, but I guess given that these guys have made one of the best games of all time just now, I guess I can respect their process and let them do things on their own time.
