Cyberpunk 2077 Developer Denies Recent Rumors Of Cut Content And Planned ‘Turnaround’

A recent alleged insider claimed lots of issue behind the scene.

Despite only coming out at the tail end of 2020, the biggest game of that year was Cyberpunk 2077. After almost a full decade of anticipation, the game came out to be a massive smash hit. Having said that, it was also a game rife with controversy. As you’re no doubt aware of, the game was a technical mess, especially the console version. I mean, it is leading to actual full blown lawsuits out here, and it’s been something to watch. There’s lots of reports and rumors flying around about the game and why it ended up in the state it did, but the developer has singled out a recent one to say it’s not true.

A few days ago an alleged employee of CD Projekt RED posted on GameFAQs. In this post, he made a lot of different claims, such as vast amounts of content that were cut, claiming that a lot of the future support would be returning that content and that the developer is internally prepping for a ‘No Man’s Sky‘ style turnaround. There’s also a lot of other stuff such as this alleged employee’s opinion on what upper management did wrong.

The official Cyberpunk Twitter account actually addressed this directly, responding to a Reddit thread that has a full breakdown of all the content from that post. They say simply that the story is not true.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia (at the time of writing this, however, the game is not available digitally on the PlayStation Store). DLC for the title is set to begin coming out early this year.
