The Witcher 3 was an amazing generation-defining game on so many levels. It did revolutionary things that will be remembered for ages to come, and it did things on a smaller scale that maybe won’t stand out years from now but still deserve some credit. An example of that- its dynamic weathers. At any time, a storm could kick in in The Witcher 3, and the game looked absolutely glorious in those moments.

For all those who loved The Witcher 3’s dynamic weather systems, we have good news for you. CD Projekt RED have confirmed in an interview with Italian website Multiplayer (translation via Spieltimes) that Cyberpunk 2077 will also have dynamic weather systems.

“We wanted to make you feel like an integral part of the city right from the first moment,” said CDPR writer Stanislaw Swiecicki, “and as in all the cities, day and night, we wanted to show players how we were able to recreate a dark and dystopian future, even in daylight. Of course, there will be variable weather conditions.”

Looks like CD Projekt RED are really going all in on the immersion factor by making Night City a living, breathing open world environment. It was one of the things that stuck with us most when we saw the game’s behind-closed-doors demo (read our impressions here). This dense open world, according to the devs, is best viewed from the game’s controversial first person perspective. Read more on that here.
