Cyberpunk 2077 Is Still In A Pre-Alpha Stage

... we're a long way away from this one releasing, aren't we?

People waiting for Cyberpunk 2077 finally got some updates this E3, because of a brand new trailer for the game, as well as a demo that was shown exclusively to the press behind closed doors. But why behind closed doors? Why not show it to the world at large?

Apparently, because the game is still in a pre-alpha stage, and that demo is literally the most polished part of the game. It’s far enough away from completion that CD Projekt RED apparently doesn’t feel comfortable showing off something they feel might not be representative of the final product to the general public.

According to Polish website Bankier, CDRP Adam Kicinski confirmed as much in an interview with them, also confirming that the E3 showing was done to show how the game is coming along to people outside of the company. Which is… great. But also indicates that this game is a long, long, long time away from release for now. If you were expecting it to come out next year, might as well give that dream up, guys.
