CD Projekt RED has just revealed the official name of its in-development RPG, which was originally just called Cyberpunk game. It will be now called Cyberpunk 2077, and will be penned by none other than the creator of the pen-and-paper- RPG, Cyberpunk.

You will be able to visit the dark future of the year 2077, which is quite a dreary place where advanced technologies have created a conflict in humans. While you can’t deny their advantages, they’ve also turned into something undesirable due to the being exploited by humans’ greed.

The game will stay faithful to the essence of the Cyberpunk genre, according to CD Projekt RED. They’ve also released a bunch of screenshots–one of them which we can’t post here due to being NFSW. However, that image will easily pass off as a female Adam Jenson from Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

It will be a sandbox game, which should be great news to a lot of fans of the genre, and the mechanics are inspired by Cyberpunk 2020 pen-and-paper system, with a twist to stay true to the modern RPG mechanics.
