There have been some new developments regarding the production of CD Projekt RED’s upcoming Cyberpunk 2077– or at least it seems that way, as per a new job ad posted by the Polish developer, as well as some job descriptions that might be hinting at where the game is in its development so far.

CD Projekt RED are looking to hire a 3D Generalist “to make outstanding visual effects and lighting for the trailers, ads or cutscenes”. As per the listing, the applicant will be responsible for things such as “creating high quality real-time visual FX and lighting for the marketing/promo videos”, “working on game in-engine FX and lighting for cut scenes”, and “creating 3d models and textures for environments, characters”, among other things.

As is pretty clear from the text above, it looks like CD Projekt RED might be starting work on putting together trailers and marketing videos for the game. We’ve only seen one trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 so far (which was also the very first trailer for the game, ever), so it’s great to see that we might be seeing more stuff in the future.

Additionally, a user on Reddit has also accrued some job descriptions of people on LinkedIn, which seem to shed some light on how far along the game is in its development cycle so far. Bruce Shtelmakher, Senior Gameplay Engineer at CDPR, has been working as a “primary RPG programmer focused on stats, items, inventory management, and attachment slots”, while Marek Brzezinski, who’s the Character Concept Artist at the studio, has worked on creating and co-creating “concept art of weapons, machines, scenes, environments, and lighting”.

The job descriptions also hint that this work has been underway since May 2015 (around the time the studio would have been done with its major work on The Witcher 3), implying that Cyberpunk 2077 has been in full swing development for about three years now- which definitely means that the studio should be ready to give us more concrete details (and maybe even some footage) in the near future.

Cyberpunk 2077 is currently without a release date, but CD Projekt RED recently hinted that the game might end up becoming a cross-generation title. You can read the full report here. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage.
