Cyberpunk 2077 Stadia Version Won’t Release at the Same Time As PS4, Xbox One, and PC

CD Projekt says the game will release on Stadia by the end of the year.

Stadia hasn’t exactly got off to the kind of start that Google would have hoped for, and they themselves are largely to blame for that. The best way to attract more players to the service is through games of course, and as one of the biggest upcoming releases of the year, CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 is a big feather in the streaming service’s cap.

As it turns out though, it won’t see a simultaneous release on Stadia, and will be launching on the platform some time after it releases for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This is as per a statement by CD Projekt on their site in a post about the game’s marketing.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on 17 September 2020 for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4,” the company wrote (via ResetEra). “By the end of the year the game will also make its debut on Google Stadia.”

For a game as massive as this one, a gap of a couple of months will be a pretty big blow for Stadia. It’s also worth noting that it’s very likely that – depending on when Cyberpunk 2077 launches on the platform – the game will also be available on Xbox Series X (on which it supports Smart Delivery) and (presumably) PS5 around or before that time.

For PS4, Xbox One, and PC owners, though, Cyberpunk 2077 is out on September 17. CD Projekt RED recently said that the game is in the final stages of development. New information on the highly anticipated title will be made available on June 25 at Night City Wire.
