After just how incredible The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which launched in 2015 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC turned out to be, all eyes are now on CD Projekt RED’s next big project- a total departure from the Witcher games, a cyberpunk action RPG titled rather unimaginatively, CyberPunk 2077.

CyberPunk was actually announced before The Witcher 3 was announced- so it has been a very long wait for that game, and one that does not seem to be ending. Naturally, the recent rumors that the development of the game has become troubled have not exactly done anything to dissipate the tension CD Projekt RED fans feel, either.

CD Projekt RED today released a new statement regarding the situation, which you can read in full below. The long and short of it is this: they sidestep addressing the rumors that morale is low. Nonetheless, they do talk about high profile departures from the studio, pointing out that such things are common in the industry. They mention that they like to take their time with their games, and that CyberPunk is no different in that regard- and they promise to deliver “a great game”.

You can check out the statement in full below- remember, similar rumors were also abound for The Witcher 3, and we all know how well that game turned out. Sometimes, it is better to let your work do the talking for you.
