Cyberpunk 2077 Was Running On PC At E3 2019

The game probably won't look quite as good on PS4 and Xbox One.

CD Projekt RED brought Cyberpunk 2077 to E3 once again this year, and just like last year, other than showing a trailer during Microsoft’s press event, they also showed off an extended gameplay demo behind closed doors. That demo has, predictably enough, been getting a lot of praise for its visual fidelity, leaving some to wonder whether the game’s going to look this good on current gen consoles as well.

However, as many have guessed, the gameplay for Cyberpunk 2077 shown during E3 was actually running on a PC, as confirmed by CD Projekt RED’s global community lead Marcin Momot on Twitter. That, of course, means the game won’t look quite as good on a PS4 or an Xbox One- though we probably could have guessed that, especially following the developer’s latest comments about current gen hardware.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out on April 16, 2020 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. On PC, the game will support ray tracing, for which you can check out some screenshots through here. Meanwhile, it’s also been confirmed that the game will run at 4K on the Xbox One X, so while we shouldn’t expect PC level visuals from the game on that console, we can at least be assured that it’ll look quite good.
