Genshin Impact - Version 4.0

Genshin Impact’s massive Version 4.0 update has finally received a release date. “As Light Rain Falls Without Reason” goes live on August 16th for PS4, PS5, PC, iOS and Android, and adds the long-awaited fifth region, Fontaine. Check out the official trailer below.

Fontaine is a “hub of culture, art, and technology” ruled by the Hydro Archon Focalors who administers justice in the Opera Epiclese. While it has a “bustling city on the surface”, there are also underwater areas which don’t require oxygen. Aquatic Stamina is required instead while sprinting, but you can pick up Recovery Orbs to help and use Turbulent Bubbles for faster movement.

There’s even underwater combat, with players able to absorb abilities from creatures for different situations. One can also look forward to new bosses like Icewind Suite and the Emperor of Fire and Iron. Three new playable characters are also coming – Lynel, a 5-star Pyro Archer; Lynette, a 4-star Anemo sword user;  and Freminent, a 4-star Cryo claymore wielder.

Stay tuned for more details on Version 4.0 and its characters in the coming weeks.
