The Like a Dragon franchise will continue with its next mainline entry, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, releasing in early 2024. Before that, players embody Kazuma Kiryu once more, who comes out of retirement under the alias of Joryu in Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.

Set between the events of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life and Yakuza: Like a Dragon, it will outline events leading up to Kiryu’s role in Infinite Wealth. However, following its trailer at the Summer Game Fest Showcase, Sega announced that pre-orders would receive a Legendary Fighter Pack, which features Daigo Dojima, Majima Goro and Taiga Saejima.

While Sega hasn’t officially confirmed their roles, a new panel at Anime Expo 2023 (rough translation via @CyricZ42 on Twitter) revealed they’re playable in the Battle Arena. It’s likely an optional mode separate from the campaign, which bestows different rewards. Again, we’ll need to wait for official details.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is releasing on November 9th for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Check out some more gameplay here.
