No Plans For Cyberpunk 2077 To Support VR

Error: VR Support not found.

Finally having blown the lid off their new IP, CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 shows us a gripping realization of a cyberpunk world from a studio we have full confidence in being able to pull off the change in perspective from their previous projects. It was revealed that the game will be an RPG still, but takes place in first person view. If you had hopes that meant you would be able to wipe the dust off of those VR headsets for a Resident Evil 7 style dive into their world, the studio has some bad news for you.

A Reddit user known as vvit0 asked the game’s official Facebook page about any plans for VR support. Unfortunately, the answer from the page was fairly definitive – VR not found. Guess the team has little interest in the technology, at least for the moment.

In other related news, studio CEO Marcin Iwinski was speaking to Kotaku and revealed some interesting details about development, including that they tried to get Cyberpunk 2077 off the ground during development of The Witcher 3, but backed off to make that game the best it could be. The larger pre-production period has allowed the team to have a running start at their new IP. We have no idea when Cyberpunk 2077 will launch, but it is said to be coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
