Following the gameplay reveal for Sonic Frontiers, Sega has announced a new edition of Sonic Central. Premiering today at 9 AM PT on YouTube and Twitch, it features a “sneak peek” at upcoming projects, partnerships, and events in 2022.

Additional footage and details for Sonic Frontiers, along with a potential release date, could be provided during the show. Sega also has Sonic Origins in the release pipeline – it releases on June 23rd for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch. It remains to be seen what the other “upcoming projects” and “partnerships” (read: collaborations with other games) could be.

Sonic Frontiers releases this Holiday season for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC. As the first “open zone” title in the series, it sees Sonic traveling to the Starfall Islands, an archipelago with various ancient ruins, secrets and enemies. You can check out the recent combat gameplay here.
