Super Mario Bros Wonder

Along with a remake of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon remaster and a new Princess Peach title, Nintendo announced a new 2D side-scrolling Super Mario Bros. title, as leaks had claimed it would. It’s called Super Mario Bros. Wonder and launches on October 20th for the Nintendo Switch. Check out the first gameplay below.

The same classic platforming remains intact but with tons of new mechanics. Mario can take different forms, from an elephant to a spiked ball that can demolish obstacles. Certain stages can devolve into chaos, with rising and falling pipes and other insanity, as Mario and his friends attempt to collect the Wonder Seeds.

Other playable characters include Luigi, Toad, Daisy, Peach, Yoshi, and even Wiggler, with four-player co-op support. There’s also a talking flower who guides Mario through the various levels. Overall, Super Mario Bros. Wonder looks like a fun platformer with tons of variety. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
