Nexon’s free-to-play co-op looter shooter, The First Descendant, will be releasing later this year for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. However, there will be a beta test from August 22nd to 28th with cross-platform play supported. Check out the latest trailer below, which introduces two new characters – Valby and Kyle.

While Valby relies on water skills, Kyle can fly and use magnetic powers for defense. The beta will have 13 playable characters with unique abilities and play styles. The developer also confirmed features like cosmetics to customize characters, skill modifications, and even a grappling hook for traversal.

Participants can expect new solo and co-op missions, updated UI and UX elements, and a four-player raid against the Colossuses. Stephen Barton, who composed for Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, has also collaborated on the audio design. Check out impressions from last year’s open beta on PC here and stay tuned for more details on The First Descendant in the coming months.
